Segundo o site da Rádio Comercial foi essa a temperatura atingida na quinta feira, 21 de julho, em Mitribah, uma cidade no Kuwait. A temperatura foi tão alta que acabou por bater o recorde do mundo: o dia mais quente já alguma vez registado.
Apesar de existirem notícias de temperaturas mais altas atingidas noutros pontos da Terra, os especialistas citados pelo jornal dizem que esta foi a mais alta dentro das que foram medidas através de sistemas confiáveis.
No dia seguinte, sexta feira, no país vizinho Iraque, os termómetros atingiram quase a mesma temperatura e o recorde esteve quase a cair… mas por lá os termómetros ficaram nos 53,9 graus Celsius. Mitribah é uma cidade onde por norma os termómetros sobem bem alto, mas desta vez foi mesmo um recorde.
